Both my wife and myself are over 70 and decided that it would be a good idea to move closer to my daughter who lives in Gastonia. In order to make this move we needed to sell our home in northern Virginia and locate a home in the Gastonia area. My daughter suggested that we use Team Horton (since she knew Dr. Horton and assured me that I could trust him to do whatever was needed to find me a home that we would love calling "home". Upon contacting Dr. Horton he immediately started looking for a house that fit the requirements we gave him. On several occasions he found houses that met all the requirements we had given him at that point. After having our daughter go to look at the house my wife and I would find things that we disliked in the house and let Dr. Horton know of the new requirements. Dr. Horton showed true understanding and kept a professional attitude during this whole ordeal. Eventually he found two houses that we liked and bid on but lost them to higher bidders. Dr. Horton knew of some homes in South Carolina that he thought were exactly what we wanted. He arranged to get Taylor Mannella to guide us through the South Carolina offerings. Ms. Mannella was outstanding in helping us find places that were just right for us. She went way out of her way to arrange showings that my daughter could go on and even provided private video tours for my wife and myself since we could not leave Northern Virginia to come to South Carolina to take the tours in person. After showing my daughter several houses and providing my wife and myself live video tours she finally showed us a home in Clover, South Carolina that we fell in love with without once stepping in the doors. Ms. Mannella then took the initiative to set up meetings with our loan officers and made sure that all the legal requirements were met in order to get us the house with little effort on our part. We are now living in the house that Ms. Mannella introduced us too and feel that it was a blessing to be able to get a place that met all our demands and feels so much like home now.
